Teen Volunteering

3 teen volunteers

Making a difference.

Our teen volunteers assist staff and visit with patients and families in our inpatient care homes once a week for two hours. Volunteering with Hospice of the Valley can even be a springboard to a career in healthcare and serving others.

What's in it for you?

  • Community service hours for your high school, National Honor Society or other club.
  • Training that will prepare you to interact with patients and their families.
  • Experience in a professional setting with a leading nonprofit hospice.
  • Fulfillment from making a personal connection with a patient.

In addition, high school seniors with 50 hours of service as a Hospice of the Valley volunteer are eligible to apply for college scholarships through our Teen Scholarship Program.

  • Teen volunteer training is offered in October, February and June. Applications are open until a month prior to training.
  • Space is limited. Applications are accepted based on availability.
  • A wide range of remote projects also are available as an alternative to in-person volunteering.
